Meet Dee Tan and Zhang Xiuwen, recruiters at DBS

Meet Dee Tan and Zhang Xiuwen, recruiters by day and chatbot co-creators by night at DBS, the #BestBankInTheWorld. With zero experience, the duo took on the challenge of building Southeast Asia’s first virtual bank recruiter, in partnership with Singapore start-up impress.ai. The duo had to quickly pick up the necessary skills and knowledge while busy with their day-to-day responsibilities at work. Their efforts paid off when Jim (aka Jobs Intelligence Maestro) was launched in May this year. Jim, which brings applicants through their entire pre-screening journey, has spoken to over 600 applicants. Applicants’ drop-off rate has fallen from 15% to 3% and 97% of their questions can be answered by Jim. “We had to let go of certain views about recruitment and consider how a bot might do things differently but better. This helped us be free to truly innovate and pioneer something awesome,” says Xiuwen.
